2019: our top articles

2019 saw a lot of changes for businesses. New York ushered in a series of new labor laws, WeWork's now-infamous-IPO crashed and burned, Elon Musk gave us plenty to tweet about, and farmers across the country saw no shortage of challenges but perhaps some reason for optimism with cannabis and hemp.

Our incredible team at Colligan Law does our best to keep you apprised of the latest changes so you can turn your attention to doing what you do best--growing your business.

And while we put out a lot of conent in 2019, here are our top articles:

1. New York Farmers Set to Benefit from Selling Hemp to Medical Marijuana Companies. CBD, hemp, and cannabinoid  products have been gaining considerable traction. Every month it seems like a new state is changing its laws to provide greater access to products. No doubt, 2020 will see New York tackle recreational cannabis. Much of this industry expansion is poised to benefit agricultural producers--including those in upstate New York.

2. Developing Buffalo's East SideThe development of Buffalo’s East Side has been talked about for years, but nothing has ever come of it. With the State’s 2019 investment commitment, that idea finally may become reality.

3. Drinks on a Plane - When and where is it okay to drink in an airport or on a plane? Some of our articles tackle challenging legal or exciting economic development projects. Others answer pressing practical questions like where can you legally consume alcohol when traveling by plane? No sweat, we're here to answer your aeronautical-cocktail questions.

4. The Wheels of Justice. Touching on the FBI raids of Buffalo City Hall, we took a careful look at how government investigations can potentially impact you and your business, and how important it is to be proactive.

5. UB e-Law Center is all business. This post highlighted some of our work with the University at Buffalo Entrepreneurship Law Center and the opportunities that program is providing students and WNY startups.

Thank you for putting your trust in Colligan Law. We look forward to helping you pursue your goals and keeping you up to date with the latest business and legal news in 2020!
