NY Executive Order Update: certain licenses and registrations extended, statute of limitations tolled, 100% reduction in workforce, among several changes.

Last night New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo released Executive Order 202.8 setting forth several temporary changes and modifying previous Executive Orders (202.7 and 202.6). Among them are:

  1. Tolling of statute of limitations until April 19, 2020;
  2. Driver’s license, non-driver’s license, and registration expiration dates extended;
  3. Suspension of shareholder’s meetings requiring a physical location;
  4. 100% reduction of workforce for nonessential companies by March 22, 2020 at 8 p.m.;
  5. No enforcement of commercial or residential evictions or foreclosure for 90 days; and
  6. Sales tax penalties and interest abated for 60 days
