Colligan Law Partner Margot Knab has been named vice president of the Family Promise of Western New York (WNY) board of directors. The nonprofit organization works alongside families facing homelessness to provide housing solutions and tailored support so that they can find their pathway home. Ms. Knab has served on its board since 2023.

With a focus on eviction prevention and stabilization, along with shelter and temporary housing provisions, the organization seeks to build a community that invests in the strength of our region's families so that every child can have a safe and dignified home. 

Family Promise of WNY focuses on keeping families together and stable, with children representing 75% of the people it serves. Their small-scale, family-centered model allows staff to build trust, know everyone by name, and offer innovative support tailored to each family's unique needs.

In addition, staff members assist with supportive, wrap-around services such as healthcare, safety, employment, childcare and budgeting, along with such basic needs as food, clothing, transportation and communication.
