Colligan Law Promotes Three to Partner

Colligan Law LLP has promoted Margot Knab, Erick Kraemer and Alexander Vilardo to Partner. All three have been with the firm for several years, possess wide-ranging industry experience and were named 2023 Super Lawyers Rising Stars.

Knab most recently was a senior associate with the firm. Her practice relates primarily to corporate and business law. She works with businesses of all sizes, startups, entrepreneurs and investors, assisting with mergers and acquisitions, labor and employment, and intellectual property matters.

Knab serves on the boards of Buffalo Go Green, Inc., Family Promise of Western New York and the Women’s Business Center at Canisius College. She holds a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies with minors in Political Science and Sociology from the University at Buffalo.

Kraemer most recently held the title of special counsel. He advises clients seeking to prepare for, avoid or actively engaged in, litigation. He manages cases from inception through a final verdict or settlement. He has appeared in numerous New York State and federal courts and before such administrative forums as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York State Division of Human Rights, and Dept. of Labor. He is well-versed in labor/employment law and numerous commercial litigation topics.

Kraemer worked for several law firms in the New York City and Buffalo markets between 2012 and 2018. He earned his J.D. from the St. John’s University School of Law. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the State University of New York at Geneseo.

Vilardo also was most recently a senior associate with the firm. He focuses mainly on corporate and business law, commercial real estate, estate planning and estate administration. He helps clients to navigate acquisitions, structure succession and estate plans, purchase and sell commercial property and administer estates when a loved one passes.

Vilardo serves on the Alumni Board of Directors of Canisius University, from which he earned his bachelor’s degree in 2014, and the Alumni Board of Governors of Canisius High School, from which he graduated in 2010. He is also an alumnus of the University at Buffalo School of Law.
